Tuesday Mar 22, 2022
Tuesday Mar 22, 2022
Do you know how long God has loved you? Has God loved you from the time you were a child, or has God loved you from the time you started loving him? How long do you think God has loved you? How long... How long do you think that God has been head over heels crazy about you? It can be fun to think about...

HOW TO SAY ’THANK YOU’ TO GOD | Psalm 116:13-14
Saturday Mar 19, 2022
Saturday Mar 19, 2022
Now, I've heard that feeling thankful can present a real problem to an atheist or an agnostic, they don't know who or what to thank. Well, a Christian never has that problem, we know who to thank for our many blessings, we thank our Father in Heaven, but sometimes we might wonder how best to thank our Father for all that he does for us. Well today, I'm looking at a psalm where the psalmist is wondering how, how to thank God...

HARVEST IS COMING! | Galatians 6:9
Thursday Mar 17, 2022
Thursday Mar 17, 2022
Fatigue makes cowards of us all.
That's what General George Patton wrote to his troops during the darkest days of World War II. Fatigue makes cowards of us all. Well, it's been true in my life, I get fatigued, worn down, discouraged, and I wanna quit, to chuck it all. Perhaps that's been true for you too.
I wonder about you, this expense of covid, of economic hardship, churches shut down, ministries closed. Are you maybe growing weary? Sometimes finding it hard to keep going? It's not wrong to feel weary, but we don't want to let feeling where we get the best of us so that we lose heart. And we quit. And so the apostle Paul is writing to us, "Let us not grow weary in doing what is right. For we will reap that harvest time." We will reap a harvest time.

STRONGER AT OUR BROKEN PLACES | Psalm 34:18
Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
The world breaks all of us. That's what Ernest Hemingway said, the world breaks all of this, but there are some who grow stronger at the broken places.
And I'm wondering if you might be feeling broken today. I mean with everything going on in the world and everything going on in your life and the lives of those around you. How is it that there are, like Hemingway said, that there are people who actually grow stronger at the broken places? That's what I want to explore for the next few moments, growing stronger at our broken places.

GOD’S INCOMPREHENSIBLE LOVE | Ephesians 3:16-19
Saturday Mar 12, 2022
Saturday Mar 12, 2022
I'm gonna talk with you for a few moments about something that I do not understand, something that is beyond comprehension, that is beyond our ability to grasp, to fathom.
And that is how much Jesus loves you and me. That Jesus loves you just as you are. That Jesus loves you in ways that you cannot begin to know, in ways that you cannot imagine, and I pray for you that in the next few moments that you will let yourself go, that you will let yourself sink deep into the boundless ocean of God's love, where your feet will never touch bottom. I'm praying a prayer, the Apostle Paul prays for all Christians to know Jesus' love. Now, you would think that Christians would already know Jesus' love. Well, we're just getting started.

WATCH AND PRAY FOR UKRAINE | Habakkuk 2
Thursday Mar 10, 2022
Thursday Mar 10, 2022
I'm talking today with the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other. Because well, have you seen the news coming out of Ukraine? It's hard to watch, isn't it? Pictures of cities under siege, hospitals being bombed, two and a half million refugees, half of them children who are fleeing, and no one has a clue as to where it's all going. And so today's news has me again, turning to the Bible, turning to that little power-packed book of a Habakkuk...

YOUR LIFE CALLING | 1 Corinthians 4:2
Tuesday Mar 08, 2022
Tuesday Mar 08, 2022
What do you sense God calling you to do with your life? Looking at everything going on in our world today, you look at the needs, the hurts, and yes, the opportunities. What is it that God wants from you? It's a question I think about a lot. The question that is always fresh, a question I want to reflect on today with the help of the Apostle Paul as he writes, and what God is calling him to do and what God is calling you and me to do.

WHAT TO DO WHEN TROUBLE STRIKES | Psalm 46
Thursday Mar 03, 2022
Thursday Mar 03, 2022
What do you do when trouble strikes? What do you do when out of nowhere you get hit by bad news? When you see the horrific images out of Ukraine and other troubled places in the world, what do you do? I wanna share with you something that I like to do, something that helps me with trouble strikes when something rocks my world. I'd like to turn to Psalm 46 and reflect on the opening words that I read right now...

GOD’S WELCOME HOME FOR YOU | Psalm 84
Tuesday Mar 01, 2022
Tuesday Mar 01, 2022
Home. Can you think of a more wonderful, more lovely word than home?
The longing for home is deep, and most of us, that safe place where we can go just as we are, and they take a sin where we can kick off our shoes and relax and simply be who we are. We remember Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz who says, There's no place like home. And with those words and three clicks of her heels, Dorothy is back home from the land of Oz, back home with Auntie Em, the cowardly lion, and the tin man and all that really matters. It's at home. Most of us know about Dorothy is feeling that there is no place like home. Sure, we love to travel and to explore the wondrous big world, but it is good to come home, home is where the heart is, we say. Bartlett Geomati, former commissioner of baseball, and before that president of Yale University, when asked to explain the popularity of baseball in America, Geomati said, Well, baseball is all about going home, and we all want to get home. It's our longing to get home. That is at the heart of a passage from the Psalms that I wanna share with you today in Psalm 84.
